Another attractive and relatively obscure (except in Chile, where he’s very well known as their own Che Guevara) Latin American revolutionary leader, Miguel Enriquez Espinosa of the MIR (Movimiento de Izquierda Revolucionaria - Movement of the Revolutionary Left). Also the father of 2010 presidential candidate Marco Enriquez-Ominami.
Miguel Enríquez, a medical doctor, was killed at age 30 by Pinochet’s secret police, the DINA, on October 5, 1974.
